Eleven pages, one for each number from 0 to 10, and each page goes from big to small and from more help to less. The top row has big bubble numbers with a numbered dot where each stroke starts and arrows along the way. The next row has the dots and a dashed line down the middle of each bubble, and the row after that has only the start dots, so children trace inside the outline on their own. At the bottom, handwriting lines hold an example, numbers to trace and room to write the number alone.
Write the number on the board first, saying each stroke out loud: "Start at the top, go down." Have children trace the big bubble number with a finger, then with a crayon along the dashed line. The bubble numbers also work under play dough, beans or stickers before children pick up a pencil. Use the pages in order, a number a day, or give a child the page for a number they write backwards.
Trace the number in the air together, then on the page, and ask your child to say the number each time they finish one. Afterwards, look for that number on clocks, signs and house numbers.
