Features

  • 23 cards: dividing by 11, and each fact's other division (66 ÷ 6)
  • The fact on the front, stacked as in a column
  • The quotient on the back, with the fact small in the corner for sorting
  • A thick purple frame on every front, so the cards are easy to turn the right way
  • Backs laid out to print double-sided, or the fronts and then the backs on a one-sided printer

Skills Covered

  • Divide by 11 quickly
  • Know the division facts of the 11 times table
  • Think multiplication to divide
  • See division as an unknown factor
  • Check an answer on the back
  • Practice the facts a child misses

How to Use This Pack

Division flash cards for the 11 times table, eight to a sheet: every fact of the table divided both ways, so 11 × 6 = 66 gives 66 ÷ 11 and 66 ÷ 6. 11 × 11 gives one card, so there are 23 in all. Each front shows a fact stacked as in a column; its back shows the quotient, with the fact printed small in the corner for sorting. Print the pack double-sided and flip on the long edge: each back sheet is laid out mirrored, so every card's back lands behind its front. On a printer that prints one side, choose Fronts only under Print, put the printed sheets back in the paper tray, then choose Backs only. Fronts have a thick frame and backs a thin one, so a card turned the wrong way stands out.

In the Classroom

Show a card and ask for the quotient, then for the multiplication fact behind it. Partners take turns showing and answering, turning each card over to check. Use these after the 11s multiplication cards, or mixed in with them.

At Home

Five minutes a day goes further than an hour once a week. Start with the facts your child knows, then add two or three new ones each day.

Tips for Success

  • Think multiplication: 66 ÷ 11 = 6 because 11 × 6 = 66
  • 11 × 1 to 11 × 9 repeat the digit: 11 × 4 = 44
  • A number divided by 1 is itself
  • Keep the cards a child misses in their own pile
  • Card stock makes the cards last

Common Core Standards Alignment

This pack supports the following Common Core State Standards for Mathematics:

  • 3.OA.B.6 Treat division as finding a missing factor: solve 35 ÷ 5 by asking what times 5 equals 35.
  • 3.OA.C.7 Multiply and divide to 100 fluently with strategies, and by year's end instantly recall every product of two single-digit numbers.

Division Flash Cards: 11s

3rd – 4th Grade

Flash cards for the division facts of the 11 times table, such as 66 ÷ 11 and 66 ÷ 6, with the fact on the front and its quotient on the back. Children say each quotient, then turn the card over to check.
