A scaffolded seven-page pack for the making-ten strategy. The pages step from concrete to abstract: count the empty spaces in a ten frame, answer how many more make 10, add two frames together, complete equations with dotted-dot hints, then solve bare equations using the included blank ten frame reference sheets as a helper tool.
Work through the pages in order across a week of making-ten practice. The final two pages are reusable helper sheets - print one per student, slip into sheet protectors, and let students draw dots lightly with pencil or dry-erase marker while solving the equation pages, then erase and reuse.
Do one page at a time. If your child gets stuck on an equation page, hand them the blank ten frame sheet and say "draw the 4 dots - now how many empty spaces are left?" The frame turns an abstract fact into something they can see and count.
