Thirty bingo cards, two to a page, each with sixteen lowercase letters and no two cards alike. The teacher calls a capital letter, shows it and says its name, and children find its lowercase partner on their card: when B is called, b is marked. After the cards come calling cards for the 26 capital letters, to cut apart and draw one at a time, and a caller's checklist. Four in a row across, down or corner to corner wins.
Hand out cards and counters. Draw a calling card, say the letter's name and hold it up, then tick it on the checklist. Letters whose two forms look different (A and a, G and g, R and r) are the ones to slow down for. To call from the board, open the Bingo Caller set to capital and lowercase letters, which picks the letters at random and keeps a board of every call.
Play with two cards and the calling cards in a bowl. Take turns calling, and say each letter's sound as well as its name.
