How to Use This Pack

Six Halloween pages that pair pictures with number sentences. Pages 1 to 3 show two groups of the same Halloween picture to add; pages 4 to 6 ask students to cross out some pictures and write how many are left. Every page uses a new set of numbers.

In the Classroom

Model the first problem on each page, then let students work in pairs. The picture groups make a quick warm-up for the week of Halloween, and the answer keys make checking fast.

At Home

Have your child say the number sentence out loud: "3 cats and 2 cats is 5 cats." For subtraction, make sure they cross out from the end so the leftover pictures are easy to count.

Tips for Success

• Count the first group, then count on for the second
• Cross out pictures with one clear X so the rest stay easy to count
• Read the finished number sentence aloud
• Kids can color the pictures when the page is done
