Each page hides a Thanksgiving picture in a hundreds chart. Students read the color lists at the top, like "Color brown: 34 to 37", find those numbers in the chart, and color the squares. When every list is done, a turkey, a slice of pumpkin pie, an acorn, a sunflower, an ear of corn or a pilgrim hat appears, and students write its name on the line.
A calm, focused activity for the days before Thanksgiving. Model the first list on the board: find the first number, then count on square by square to the last one. The turkey page has the most colors, so save it for last. The answer keys show the finished picture in shades of blue, one shade per color.
Have crayons ready in each color named on the page. Ask your child to say each number as they color it. If they get stuck, point to the start of the row and count on together.
