Four winter pictures to color by code. Every space holds a two-digit adding or subtracting problem within 100: students solve it, find the answer in the color key at the top, and color the space that color. Some colors have two answers, and the snow has no problem and stays white. Pages 1 and 2 add (a mug of hot cocoa and a snow globe), pages 3 and 4 subtract (a snowy cabin at night and a penguin).
Students can solve on scrap paper or in the margins, then color. A good review of two-digit adding and subtracting in the weeks after winter break, with nothing from any holiday on the pages.
Add the tens, then the ones. For subtracting, check by adding the answer back.
