Two pages that go over the whole unit on money and patterns, to do together the day before the test. Its 11 questions are the same kinds as the test's, in the same order, with other coins and numbers, so nothing on the review is on the test. Coins are drawn at their true sizes next to each other, heads and tails, and every group to count holds only dimes, nickels and pennies. There is no Score line: it is practice, not a grade. The pre-check and the unit test are packs of their own.
This unit comes from state standards, and the review goes in the test's order: coins (questions 1 to 5), the Texas money lessons (6 to 8), then patterns (9 to 11). Do only the parts your state teaches, together, the day before the test, with coins out. Work a question, then let students try the next one on their own, and stop on any that trip up more than a few. The keys name each question's lesson, so a question the class misses points to the lesson to go back to.
Use the review as practice before a test at school. Empty a pocket or a coin jar and count the coins together, dimes first, then nickels, then pennies. Look for patterns at home, like tiles, socks or stairs, and ask what comes next.
