One page to give on the first day of the unit on dividing whole numbers, before any teaching. Its six questions are on the 4th grade skills the unit builds on: dividing tens, hundreds and thousands with a fact, estimating a quotient, multiplying a 2-digit number by a digit and by its tens (the products tried in 2-digit division), subtracting, long division with a 1-digit divisor, and a remainder story. It has a Score line, and the key names the lesson each question leads into. The unit review and the unit test are packs of their own.
Give the pre-check on the first day and sort the class by what they missed: a student who misses the long division needs a day with 1-digit divisors before the 2-digit ones, and one who misses the multiplying or the subtracting needs that practice beside the unit, since every step of long division leans on both. Nothing on the page divides by a 2-digit number yet, so a low score is no surprise; it shows where to start.
Use it to see what your child needs before the unit starts: practice the division facts and long division with 1-digit divisors a few minutes a day.

A check to give before the unit on dividing whole numbers, on the 4th grade skills it builds on. Students divide tens, hundreds and thousands, estimate, multiply, subtract, do long division with a 1-digit divisor and solve a remainder story.
