Thirteen pages, one for each letter from A to M, made for a letter of the day routine. A banner at the top shows the capital and small letter with a picture that starts with it. Six boxes follow: trace both letters from their start dots, color the big bubble letters, circle the letter among look-alikes, color the pictures that start with its sound, write it on handwriting lines and draw something that starts with it. Every picture is named underneath, so a grown-up can read it out. The answer keys circle the letters and the pictures.
Start the day with the page on the board: say the letter's name and its sound, and read the banner word together. Trace the letters in the air, then on the page. For Hear it, read each picture's name aloud and have children give a thumbs up when it starts with the letter. Save the drawings for a class book of the letter.
Say each picture's name slowly and ask your child which ones start with the letter's sound. Then hunt for the letter on cereal boxes, signs and book covers.
A page for each letter from A to M that looks at it six ways, made for a letter of the day routine. Children trace it, color it, find it among letters that look like it, pick out the pictures that start with it, write it and draw something that starts with it.
