How to Use This Pack

Thirteen pages, one for each letter from A to M, with everything about that letter on one sheet. At the top is a big bubble capital and small letter with numbered start dots and arrows, beside a picture that starts with the letter: an apple for A, a bear for B, a cat for C. Below, children trace and write both letters on handwriting lines, trace the picture's word, circle every capital and small letter in a row of look-alikes, and write the letter to finish the word. The answer keys circle the letters and write in the missing one.

In the Classroom

Use one page a day as the letter of the day. Say the picture's word slowly and stretch its first sound, then have children say it with you before they trace the big letters. Trace the capital in the air, then the small letter, and point out where each one starts. Read the word together before children trace it.

At Home

Say the picture's word together and listen for its first sound. Then look around the house for other things that start with the same sound, and say each one slowly.

Tips for Success

  • Start at the dot with the 1 in it
  • Capital letters start at the top line
  • Say the letter's sound as you write it
  • Look closely: b and d face different ways
  • Read the word out loud when you finish it

Trace and Write Letters A to M

Pre-K – K
