Five pages on multiplying and dividing decimals, models first. Page 1 shades tenths strips for 3 × 0.4, shades groups on a hundred grid for 4 × 0.25, then multiplies in tenths and hundredths: 6 × 0.3 is 18 tenths, or 1.8. Page 2 shades 3 tenths down and 6 tenths across a hundred grid, so the overlap shows 0.3 × 0.6 = 0.18, then places the decimal point in products such as 2.4 × 3.1 by estimating 2 × 3 = 6. Page 3 multiplies in columns, tenths by tenths, hundredths by a whole number, and money, counting the decimal places. Page 4 shares base-ten blocks to divide 4.8 by 4, divides with long division by 1- and 2-digit whole numbers, and divides by a decimal as how many tenths fit: 1.2 ÷ 0.3 is 12 tenths ÷ 3 tenths = 4. Page 5 estimates products and quotients with whole numbers, then solves story problems about prices, sharing a bill, and cups of juice.
Draw a hundred grid on the board, shade 3 columns in one color and 6 rows in another, and ask what part of the whole is shaded twice. Before page 3, multiply 36 × 24 together, then ask where the decimal point goes in 3.6 × 2.4 and how an estimate tells you. On page 4, share real base-ten blocks before drawing them.
At the store, ask what 3 of an item at $1.25 would cost, and how much each person pays when a $24.60 bill is shared by 4. Estimate with whole dollars first, then work out the exact amount together.

A 5-page decimals pack for 5th grade. Multiply a decimal by a whole number with tenths strips and hundred grids, multiply tenths by tenths on a hundred grid where the overlap is the product, and place the decimal point by estimating. Multiply in columns with tenths, hundredths, and money, share base-ten blocks to divide, use long division with 1- and 2-digit divisors, divide by tenths and hundredths, estimate first, and solve story problems. Every page comes in color and in black and white. Answer keys included.
