Four winter pictures to color by code. Every space holds a multiplication or division fact with factors 2 to 10: students solve it, find the answer in the color key at the top, and color the space that color. Some colors have two answers, and the snow has no problem and stays white. Pages 1 and 2 multiply (a hat and mittens, then a snowy cabin at night), pages 3 and 4 divide (a snowman and a penguin).
Use the pages as fact practice in January and February, when many 3rd graders are learning their harder facts. Remind students that a division fact has a multiplication fact behind it: 42 ÷ 6 is 7 because 6 × 7 = 42.
Quiz a few facts aloud together before coloring. For a division fact, ask what times the divisor makes the bigger number.
