The unit test for the second unit of 3rd grade, division as sharing and as making groups. Pages 1 and 2 are Form A. Pages 3 and 4 are Form B: the same questions in the same order with different numbers, for a retake, a make-up or a second seating. Each form has 12 questions, one point each, and a Score line on its first page. Every question is on the Common Core standards for 3rd grade; question 9 also covers dividing with 0 and 1. The pre-check and the unit review are packs of their own.
Give Form A the day after the unit review. Questions 8, 9 and 10 hold several facts each: give the point when all are right, or score them by the fact if you like. The keys write one fact family in one order; the four facts in any order are right. The answer keys name each question's skill, so a missed question points to the lesson to reteach.
Use Form B as a check after the unit. Share snacks equally on plates, or put socks into pairs, and ask how many each one gets or how many groups there are. Then ask for the multiplication fact that checks it.
