One page to give on the first day of the unit on dividing multi-digit numbers, before any teaching. Its six questions are on the skills the unit builds on: the division facts, a missing factor (dividing is finding one), subtracting (every step of long division subtracts), multiplying by hundreds and thousands and by a 1-digit number (to divide big numbers and to check a quotient), and a sharing story. It has a Score line, and the key names the lesson each question leads into. The unit review and the unit test are packs of their own.
Give the pre-check on the first day and sort the class by what they missed: a student who is slow on the division facts needs fact practice beside the unit, and one who trips on subtracting with regrouping needs that before long division. Nothing on the page asks for multi-digit dividing yet, so a low score is no surprise; it shows where to start.
Use it to see what your child needs before the unit starts: practice the division facts a few minutes a day, and turn each into a multiplication (56 ÷ 8 = 7 because 7 × 8 = 56).

A check to give before the unit on dividing multi-digit numbers, on the skills it builds on. Students answer division facts, find missing factors, subtract 3-digit numbers, multiply by tens and hundreds and by a 1-digit number, and solve a sharing story.
