How to Use This Pack

Five pages that build calendar sense one step at a time. Page 1 fills in the missing days of the week from a word bank and asks which day comes before or after. Page 2 does the same with the twelve months. Page 3 reads a May calendar: the day of the week for a date, how many Saturdays, the first Monday, and coloring the weekends. Page 4 reads an October calendar to find the date just before or after, one and two weeks later, and yesterday and tomorrow. Page 5 sorts words into days and months and finishes sentences about weeks, years, yesterday, and tomorrow.

In the Classroom

Use these pages alongside your morning calendar routine. Before page 3, point to today on the class calendar and move one square right for tomorrow, one square left for yesterday, and straight down for one week later.

At Home

Look at a family calendar together. Ask what day it is today, what day tomorrow will be, and how many days until a birthday or a trip.

Tips for Success

  • Say the days of the week and the months of the year aloud, or sing them
  • Copy words from the word bank so spelling never gets in the way
  • On a calendar, one week later is the square straight below
  • Weekends are the first and last columns: Sunday and Saturday
