One sheet for each month of the year, all with the same five parts so students know what to do by the second one. Circle the month's season on a wheel of winter, spring, summer and fall, and write how many days the month has. Circle how the weather usually feels where you live: chilly, cold, warm or hot. Among six month names, circle the month before in red and the month after in blue, then write the month's number in the year and draw something you like to do that month.
Hand out the sheet for the new month on its first day as part of the calendar routine, and keep the finished sheets in a folder to make a book of the year by June. Talk about the weather question together: it depends on where you live, so the answer key leaves it open.
At the start of each month, fill in its sheet together and talk about what the family will do that month: birthdays, holidays, trips and the weather.
