Eight pages that link letters to the last sound of a word. On the first two, each row has a letter and three pictures to circle the one that ends with it. The next two give a picture and three letters to circle the one it ends with. Then two pages of twelve pictures to write the last letter of, and two to write both the first and the last letter. Every word ends with a plain sound spelled with one letter, such as cat, sun, pig and box. No words are printed, so children listen for the sound; the answer keys name every picture for the grown-up reading them out.
Say each picture's name together before children start, holding the last sound: sunnn. Have children touch their head for the first sound and their toes for the last. The first and last letter pages suit small groups, where the teacher can hear each child say both sounds.
Say each picture's name with your child, holding the last sound a little longer. Then play a game: you say a word, and your child tells you the sound it ends with.
Ending sounds worksheets that link the last sound of a word to its letter, with a picture for every word. Children say each picture's name, then circle or write the letter it ends with, and write the first and last letters too.
