Nine pages that match every uppercase letter with its lowercase letter, A to Z each time. On the first five, children draw a line from each uppercase letter to its lowercase letter, five or six letters a page with room between the rows. The next two put each uppercase letter beside three lowercase letters that look alike, such as b, d and p, to circle the one that goes with it. The last two are cut and glue: the sixteen letters whose lowercase looks least like the uppercase, such as A and a, or Q and q. The answer keys show every line, circle and card in place.
Use the line pages in a letter center, or after a read-aloud of an alphabet book. Before the circle pages, hold up b, d and p cards and talk about which way each one faces. For the cut and glue pages, have children say each letter's name as they glue it.
Ask your child to name each letter before drawing a line. Then go on a hunt for uppercase and lowercase letters together on cereal boxes and signs.
