How to Use This Pack

Six friendly Halloween counting pages. The first four are count-and-write pages with a different set of numbers on each, then two ten frame pages filled with Halloween pictures: the first asks how many, the second asks how many more make 10.

In the Classroom

Use one page a day in the week before Halloween, or put the pack in a math center. Kids can touch each picture as they count, and color the bats, cats, and pumpkins when they finish.

At Home

Count out loud together and point to each picture. For the ten frame pages, ask how many empty boxes there are before counting the full ones.

Tips for Success

• Have students cross off or dot each picture as they count it
• On the make-10 page, count the empty boxes to find how many more make 10
• Save the coloring for after the numbers are written
• Pre-K students can say the number while you write it

This pack supports the following Common Core State Standards for Mathematics:

• K.CC.A.3 - Write numbers from 0 to 20 and represent a number of objects with a written numeral
• K.CC.B.4 - Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality
• K.CC.B.5 - Count to answer "how many?" questions about as many as 20 things arranged in a line or array
• K.OA.A.4 - For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number
