Ten pages, one for each number from 1 to 10. The number and its word sit at the top of the page, and six boxes look at it in different ways. Trace it has the number as dashed lines with numbered start dots, and Color it is a big bubble number. Find it hides the number five times among others, mostly ones children mix it up with, such as 6 and 9 or 1 and 7. Count it asks children to color that many stars out of a few more, Show it to draw that many dots in an empty ten frame, and Write it has an example, two to trace and room to write. The answer keys circle every copy in Find it, color one way of picking the stars and draw the dots.
Make it part of morning meeting: show the page, read the number and its word together, then do one box as a class and leave the rest for children to finish on their own. In Count it, stop children at the number: coloring every star is the mistake to look for. Hang finished pages on a number line as the numbers come up.
Pick a number of the day together and look for it all day: on the clock, in a book, on a sign. Count out that many spoons, socks or steps, then finish the page.

A page for each number from 1 to 10 that looks at it six ways, made for a number of the day routine. Children trace it, color it, find it among numbers that look like it, color that many stars, draw it in a ten frame and write it.
