How to Use This Pack

Eight winter coloring pages with no numbers or problems: a snowman, a penguin, a knit hat with a scarf and mittens, a polar bear and a baby seal, a snow globe, a cardinal on a twig, an igloo with an arctic fox, and a cabin in the snow beside a fir tree, each drawn big with thick lines in a frame. Print the pages you want; they are in black and white.

In the Classroom

Use the pages for a quiet activity, indoor recess or early finishers, any time from December to February: there is nothing from any holiday on them. While children color, talk about each picture: which animals live where it snows, what we wear to keep warm. For practice with numbers, the winter color by code packs use the same pictures.

At Home

Color a page together and talk about the picture. On a snowy day, build a snowman and color the page to match.

Tips for Success

  • Color the big parts first, then the small ones
  • Press lightly at first, then color again to make it darker
  • Snow can stay white, or try light blue for shadows
  • Try two shades of one color on a picture
