A free measuring song for kids: 12 inches make a foot, 3 feet make a yard, on to miles. Sing along with the words lit up as they are sung.
Inch by inch and foot by foot
We step through yards and travel miles
12 little inches side by side
12 little inches side by side
Heel to toe across the floor
step it out from door to door
Walking slowly, counting feet
Every step a steady beat
Put three feet together and shout
That makes a yard when we count it out
Inch by inch and foot by foot
We step through yards and travel miles
Foot by foot heel to toe
Three feet a yard we go
Three feet a yard we go
On roads winding far away
Trips that take a whole long day
Maps unfold from town to town
Miles are how we chart the way
Inch by inch and foot by foot
We step through yards and travel miles
Foot by foot we lay them long
5 ,280 strong
Foot by foot we lay them long
5 ,280 strong
From inches small to miles so wide
We measure distance far and wide
Tiny steps or journeys long
We measure length both short and long
Tiny steps or journeys long
We measure length both short and long
Tell us which math idea we should sing about next.
