A free measuring song for kids: millimeters, centimeters, meters and kilometers, and how ten small units make the next. Sing along with the words.
A tiny ant walks by my shoe
So small it's hard to view
We measure little things like this
With millimeters we can't miss
Count to ten and you will see
Ten millimeters
Make a centimeter
Growing bigger, moving quick
Measuring long with our meter stick
Ten millimeters, centimeter
Hundred centimeters, one meter
Keep on counting as we go
Watch our measurements grow and grow
One thousand meters on the go
That's one kilometer down the road
A caterpillar crawls along
Not too small and not too long
We measure leaves and bugs and more
In centimeters by the score
Count to one hundred care full ly
One hundred centimeters a meter be
Growing bigger, moving quick
Measuring long with our meter stick
Ten millimeters, centimeter
Hundred centimeters, one meter
Keep on counting as we go
Watch our measurements grow and grow
One thousand meters on the go
That's one kilometer down the road
A kangaroo jumps way out far
Across the field and past the car
For animals making distances greater
We measure them using meters
🎵
One thousand meters make a kilometer
Growing bigger, moving quick
Measuring long with our meter stick
Ten millimeters, centimeter
Hundred centimeters, one meter
Keep on counting as we go
Watch our measurements grow and grow
One thousand meters on the go
That's one kilometer down the road
From ants so tiny to kangaroo's tall
Metric measurements fit them all
Small to big, that's the trick
That's the way we measure with metric
Tell us which math idea we should sing about next.
