One page to give on the first day of the unit on division, before any teaching. Its six questions are on the multiplication it builds on: equal groups and arrays as multiplication sentences, turn-around facts, facts for 2, 5 and 10 and with 0 and 1, counting back by 5s and 2s, and a multiplication story. It has a Score line, and the key names the lesson each question leads into. The unit review and the unit test are packs of their own.
Give the pre-check on the first day and sort the class by what they missed: a student who cannot yet write the sentence for groups or an array needs counters in hand for the first lessons, and one who misses the facts needs fact practice beside the unit, since every division fact undoes a multiplication fact. Nothing on the page asks for dividing yet, so a low score is no surprise; it shows where to start.
Use it to see what your child needs before the unit on division starts: make equal groups of snacks and ask for the multiplication fact, and practice the facts for 2, 5 and 10.

A check to give before the unit on division, on the multiplication it builds on. Students write multiplication sentences for equal groups and arrays, answer facts for 2, 5 and 10 and with 0 and 1, count back by 5s and 2s and solve a multiplication story.
