Seven pages for one Kindergarten unit on number pairs and making 10. Page 1 is a pre-check (6 questions) to give before the unit, to see what children already know. Pages 2 and 3 are a review to do together before the test, with a tip on every question. Pages 4 and 5 are the unit test, Form A. Pages 6 and 7 are Form B: the same questions in the same order with different pictures and numbers, for a retake or a child who was away. Each form has 10 questions, one point each, and a Score line on its first page. Read every question aloud: a small picture beside each question number (a sun, a moon, a car) lets you say "Find the sun. How many more dots make 5?"
Give the test to a small group at a table, reading one question at a time and waiting until everyone is done. Question 10 (the equal sign: circle the one that is the same as 3 + 2) is a Kindergarten lesson in Florida only: leave it out and score out of 9 if your class does not learn it. The answer keys name each question's skill, so a missed question points to the lesson to reteach.
Use the review as practice before a test at school, or Form B as a check after the unit. Read each question aloud and let your child count on fingers or with small things like buttons or cereal.

A unit test for number pairs and making 10 in Kindergarten, made to be read aloud: a one-page pre-check, a two-page review with a tip on every question, and the unit test in two forms (A and B) that ask the same questions with different pictures and numbers. Children find how many more dots fill a five frame and a ten frame, fill in number bonds to 5, circle the domino that makes 6, 7 or 8, find how many are hidden in a box to make 9 or 10, write a number pair as a number sentence (7 = 3 + 4), write the partner that makes 10, circle the two cards that make 10 and solve a number pair story. The last question (the equal sign: which one is the same as 3 + 2) is for Florida. A small picture beside each question number lets the teacher say "find the sun." Answer keys name the lesson and skill of every question.
