Seven pages of number lines, from kindergarten counting to 5th grade decimals. Pages 1 and 2 are blank lines with 10 and 20 spaces, a longer mark at the middle and the ends, for students to number themselves. Page 3 has labeled lines from 0 to 10 and 0 to 20 for adding and subtracting with jumps, and page 4 runs from 0 to 100 with a long mark every 10 and a middle mark every 5. Page 5 stacks fraction lines from halves to twelfths, all the same length, so 1/2, 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, 5/10 and 6/12 sit one above the other. Page 6 runs from -10 to 10, and page 7 counts by tenths from 0 to 1 and from 0 to 2.
Model a jump problem on the board, then have students draw the jumps on page 3: start at 8, jump 5 more. On page 5, ask students to draw a straight line down from 1/2 and list every fraction it touches. The blank lines on pages 1 and 2 make a quick check: number the line counting by 2s, 5s or 10s.
Play a game on page 3: roll a die, jump forward that many, and see who reaches 20 first.
